The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Joint Entrance Examination (Main Paper 1) for admission to NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and institutions/universities funded/recognized by participating state governments offer B.E/B. Tech courses. For admission to B.Arch/B. Plan programs, JEE Main Paper 2 is held.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is a national entrance exam for various engineering colleges. NTA (National Testing Agency) will conduct it in four sessions in 2023. The NTA officials made significant changes to the JEE Mains exam patterns from the previous year. They are -
- The JEE Main Paper 1 has 90 questions, 30 of which are from Physics, Chemistry, and Math. Candidates can only attempt 75 questions (25 from each)
- Each subject has 20 multiple-choice questions and 10 numerical value questions (NVQ).
- Only five of the ten numerical questions must be attempted; the remaining five are optional.
- Every incorrect response in the numerical questions results in a one-mark deduction.
- JEE Mains Exam Paper 1 (B.Tech) has a total of 300 marks, while JEE Mains Exam Paper 2 (B.Arch/ B.Plan) has a total of 400 marks. Candidates can take the JEE Mains 2023 in one of thirteen different languages.
The candidate must select a language in which to take the exam when filling out the JEE Mains application form, and this choice cannot be changed or modified later.
