IES Full Form

Indian Engineering Services Examination is the full form of IES. It’s also called as Engineering Services Examination (ESE). The Indian Engineering Services are the engineers who work for the Indian government and they are classed as class-1 officers.

It is a series of services which support the government of India's technical and managerial responsibilities in the field of engineering. The Union government appoints the IES officers based on the Union Public Service Commission's recommendations (UPSC).

Eligibility

To be eligible for the recruitment process, applicant should satisfy the eligibility criteria given below

1. IES nationality: The candidates applying for the IES exam should be Indian citizens or subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibet having an eligibility certificate issued by the government of India.

2. IES age limit: The age of the candidates should be between 21- 30 years.

3. IES educational qualification: A candidate should have obtained a degree/ diploma in engineering from a recognized university or should have passed the graduate membership examination.

Salary

The basic pay of the candidate rangers from Rs. 15,600/- – 39,100/-. Along with the basic IES salary, the candidates are entitled to various allowances like HRA, Gratuity, dearness allowance, medical facility, leave encashment, and a lot more.
