The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is expected to issue the CEPTAM 11 recruitment notification for the 2025–26 cycle shortly on drdo.gov.in. The upcoming cycle is likely to include vacancies in the Senior Technical Assistant-B (STA-B), Technician-A (Tech-A) and Admin & Allied (A&A) categories. As seen in previous years, the selection process may follow a two-tier computer-based test format, with similar eligibility rules, age limits and syllabus patterns. Applications must be submitted online once the registration link is released, along with the required documents and fee payment.
The CEPTAM wing, set up in 1995, handles recruitment for DRDO’s non-gazetted posts across its network of laboratories. The last cycle, CEPTAM 10, announced 1,901 posts, and the upcoming cycle is expected to offer roughly 1,500–2,000 vacancies. Positions will be filled under the 7th Pay Commission, with salaries between ₹18,000 and ₹81,700 based on post and grade. The detailed notification will outline vacancy distribution, reservation criteria and exam dates.
The eligibility conditions are expected to remain consistent with earlier cycles. Indicative requirements include:
Technician-A (Tech-A): Class 10 with ITI in the relevant trade; age limit 18–28 years
Senior Technical Assistant-B (STA-B): Diploma or B.Sc. in Science/Engineering; age limit 18–28 years
Admin & Allied (A&A): Class 12/Graduation with applicable skill certificates; age limit 18–28 years
Age relaxations apply: five years for SC/ST, three years for OBC and up to ten years for PwBD and Ex-servicemen. Only Indian nationals can apply. A fee of ₹100 applies to General and OBC applicants, while SC, ST, PwBD, women and Ex-servicemen are exempt.
The recruitment process consists of two stages:
Tier 1: Objective test used for screening. The duration may vary between 90 and 120 minutes, with 120–150 questions depending on the post. The paper usually covers Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General Awareness and General Science for technical roles. Qualifying marks are 40% for General/OBC and 35% for SC/ST candidates.
Tier 2: Post-specific assessment. For STA-B and Tech-A, this includes questions from the relevant discipline and may include trade or skill tests. For A&A roles, Tier 2 may involve typing, stenography or physical fitness tests.
Tier 1 is generally based on Class 10–12 standards in Mathematics, Reasoning, General Awareness and Science. Tier 2 varies by post: STA-B includes topics such as circuits, thermodynamics and core engineering subjects; Tech-A is tested on ITI-level trade content; A&A covers language abilities, computer skills and related tasks.
