The main function of this membrane is to transport substances which can be through unresisting transport or active transport.

i.   Passive is in absence of ATP while active is in presence of ATP.

ii.  Therefore if plasma membrane ruptures, the transport of substances will be affected.

iii. The regulation of substances won't be able to seen.

iv. The intercellular substances will finally leak and hence the cell will die.
