Ans. The diseases which are spread by sexual contact with an infected .Person are called sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
(i) Gonorrhea and Syphilis are some common STDs caused by bacteria.
(ii) AIDS (Acquired lmmuno Deficiency Syndrome) and Genital Warts are some examples of STDs caused by virus.
Spread of such diseases my be prevented by educating people in high risk groups , screening tests for blood donors and mutually faithful monogamous relationships.
