. How many types of inertia do the material bodies have?
All material bodies can have three types of inertia.
(i)Inertia of rest - A body at rest does not change its state of rest unless a force is applied on it.
(ii)Inertia of motion - A moving body continues to remain in motion, unless stopped by a certain force.
(iii)Inertia of direction - The property by virtue of which a body is unable to change its direction of motion without applying an external force.
