. Mendel in one of his experiments with pea plants crossed a variety having round seeds with one having wrinkled seeds
Write his observations, giving reasons, of F1 and F2 progeny.
Best Answer
Ans. In Mendel's experiment with pea plants, when he crossbred a round seed plant with a wrinkled. seed plant, he found that the first generation (F1) was only round seed plants. In the F1 progeny, no wrinkled seed plants were obtained. However, in the F2 progeny both traits round seed and wrinkled seed were obtained in the ratio 3 : 1 respectively. The trait which is obtained in F1 generation is dominant trait, therefore round seed character was dominant
