. Plants absorb water
Plants absorb water through their roots, stems, and leaves. But, mainly water is absorbed by root hairs. These hair roots absorb water, when:
1. plants respire rapidly
2. soil solution is isotonic
3. salt concentration of soil is high
4. salt concentration of cell sap is high
Sol: The root hairs absorb water when the salt concentration of cell sap is high. This creates a hypertonic condition in the cells that will lead to an endosmotic flow of water into the cells.
