. What are Intrinsic and Extrinsic semi conductors
Intrinsic semiconductors are bad conductor of head and electricity. They do not have free electrons to move at normal temperature.
By doping the intrinsic semiconductors with impurities we can obtain the p-type and n-type extrinsic semiconductors.
In p-type semiconductors, the majority carriers are holes where as in n-type semiconductors the majority carriers are electrons.
Hence, an intrinsic semiconductor is a pure semiconductor and extrinsic semiconductor are obtained by doping the intrinsic semiconductors.
