. What do you mean by Nuclear Reactions

Best Answer

We know that in a chemical reaction, only electrons (extra-nuclear part) of the atom take part while the nucleus of the atom remains unaffected. However, the reverse reactions (i.e., where only nuclei of atoms part in reactions) are also possible. Such reactions in which nucleus of an atom itself undergoes spontaneous change or interact with other nuclei of lighter particles resulting new nuclei and one or more lighter particles are called nuclear reactions.
