- Electron revolves around the nucleus in circular orbits without emitting any radiation. These orbits are called stationary orbits.

- When an electron jumps from one orbit to another orbit known as energy levels, a photon is emitted with an energy equal to
the difference between the energy level of the two states. Thus, the frequency of the emitted photon is v=Ei-Eƒ/h.
