. Write the Direction of transport to Plants
Direction of transport :
i. In rooted plants, transport in xylem (water and minerals) is unidirectional, from roots to stems.
ii. Organic and mineral nutrients however, undergo multidirectional transport.
iii. Organic compounds from leaves exported to all parts of the plant including storage organs and from storage organs they are re-exported.
iv. When any plant part undergoes senescence, nutrients may be withdrawn and move to growing parts.
v. Hormones and other chemical stimuli are also transported though in very small amount, sometime in a strictly polarized or unidirectional manner from where they are synthesized to other parts.
