NIOS admission for the Secondary Course is conducted twice a year through an entirely online process. The system is designed to be accessible, flexible, and inclusive for learners across India and internationally.
Admission Streams:

Stream 2: For learners who have failed in other boards and wish to reappear.

NIOS Secondary Course has inclusive eligibility criteria designed to accommodate diverse learners:
Age Requirement:
Minimum Age: 14 years as of 31st July (for Block 1) or 31st January (for Block 2) of the admission year.
No upper age limit.
Educational Qualification:
Learners who have passed Class 8th from any recognized board (with valid proof of age).
OR Learners providing a self-declaration: "I have studied enough to be able to pursue a secondary course".
OR Learners who have previously studied at the secondary level and wish to complete their course or improve their performance.
OR School dropouts, working professionals, athletes, performers, or homeschoolers seeking formal certification.
