UP SI Exam 2025 Date: A viral notice has created confusion among UP SI aspirants by claiming that the UP SI 2025 exam initially proposed for 17 and 18 January 2026 will not be conducted on those dates. Many students are asking whether this update is genuine or simply another rumour. Before believing any such notice, it is important to check official sources and understand the current stage of the recruitment process. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has not released any official exam date yet, and the centre finalisation process is still ongoing. Here is the detailed truth behind the viral notice.
The message circulating on social media says:
“UP SI 2025 EXAM DATE UPDATE

The government did not give approval
NOTE UP SI 2025 EXAM WILL NOT HAPPEN ON 17 AND 18 JANUARY

No such notice has been officially released by UPPRPB. The Board has not confirmed, denied, or published any exam date. The viral message appears unofficial, lacks authentication, and should not be treated as an official update.
In the past few weeks, more than thousands of videos and social posts have claimed different UP SI exam dates. This has created unnecessary panic among aspirants. Here is the verified situation based on actual recruitment procedures and district communications.
UPPRPB is currently completing the essential groundwork required before conducting the exam. The main focus right now is the identification and verification of examination centres across districts. This process must be completed fully and accurately because the exam schedule depends entirely on the availability and approval of suitable centres. Only after the verification stage is completed will the board be in a position to announce the official exam date.
The Recruitment Board has started the process of selecting schools and colleges that can serve as examination centres. For this purpose, letters were sent to District Magistrates and Police Chiefs requesting detailed information. The data includes the list of centres used during the August 2024 UP Constable Exam, an additional ten percent of potential centres, capacity details, CCTV availability, urban and rural classification, and the distance of each centre from the district headquarters. The deadline for districts to submit this information was 15 November 2025 and most districts have already provided their details. This information is now being compiled and checked to ensure that all locations meet the required standards.
After all centre lists are received, the Recruitment Board will begin the scrutiny process. The capacity and suitability of each centre will be evaluated to ensure they meet security and administrative requirements. Once this verification is completed, the final list of exam centres will be prepared. Only after this step will the board decide the exam date. Since the UP SI exam involves fifteen to sixteen lakh candidates, the number of centres required is far lower than the large-scale UP Constable exam, which had forty-eight lakh candidates. Therefore, the evaluation process is detailed but not as extensive as the earlier recruitment cycle.
The exam date cannot be declared until the verification of examination centres is completed. Examination centres do not decide the date and only confirm their availability. The Recruitment Board will fix the schedule after assessing logistics, manpower availability, and security arrangements. Until these factors are finalised, the board cannot issue an official notification regarding the exam date.
