- Educational Qualification
The basic educational qualification to appear in the UPPSC PCS 2023 exam is Graduation. Candidates in the final year of the examination may also apply, but they must submit their final mark sheet at the time of the UPPSC Mains Detailed Application Form (DAF) submission.

UPPSC Selection Process
The selection process for the UPPSC PCS exam includes the following stages:
- Prelims Exam: The prelims exam is the first stage of the UPPSC selection process. It is a screening test to shortlist candidates for the Mains exam. Moreover, the prelims exam consists of multiple-choice questions and tests the candidate's general knowledge and aptitude.
- Mains Exam: The Mains exam is the second stage of the UPPSC selection process. Moreover, it is a written test consisting of descriptive-type questions. Furthermore, the Mains exam tests the candidate's knowledge and understanding of various subjects such as history, geography, economics, and more.
- Interview: The interview is the final stage of the selection process. Moreover, the interview tests the candidate's communication skills, problem-solving ability, and overall personality.
The final selection of the candidates is based on their combined performance in the Prelims exam, Mains exam, and Interview. The UPPSC also gives weightage to the candidate's educational qualifications, work experience, and other relevant factors during the final selection process.

- Interview (Personality Test)
Interview is the final stage of the examination to assess the candidate's overall personality, intellectual level, and suitability for the job. Most importantly, it holds a weightage of 100 marks.

- General Studies Paper I: Current events of National and International importance, Indian history, culture and Heritage, Indian and World Geography, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, Environmental Ecology and Biodiversity, and General Science and Technology.
- General Studies Paper II: Comprehension, Interpersonal skills including Communication skills, Logical reasoning and Analytical Ability, Decision making and Problem-solving, General Mental Ability, Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. - Class X level).

- Essay Paper: The candidate is expected to write two essays on topics of National and International importance.
- General Studies Paper I: Indian culture, Indian and World Geography, Natural resources in India and their distribution, Physical and Economic Geography of India, Natural calamities and Disaster Management, Environmental Ecology and Biodiversity.
- General Studies Paper II: Indian Polity and Governance, International relations, India and its neighborhood relations, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public policy, Rights issues, and e-Governance initiatives.
- General Studies Paper III: Indian economy, Agricultural development, Land reforms in India, Indian industrial development, Infrastructure, Energy and Communication and transportation, Science and Technology, and Space and Nuclear Program.
- General Studies Paper IV: Ethics, Integrity, and Aptitude, Emotional Intelligence, and Contributions of moral thinkers and philosophers from India and the World.
- Optional Subject Paper (I and II): The candidate needs to choose one subject from the list of UPPSC optional subjects. Moreover, there will be two papers of the chosen optional subject.

Q1. Is UPPSC tough or UPSC?
Ans. UPSC is considered to be one of the toughest exam in India. On the other hand, the UPPSC Provincial Civil Services (PCS) Examination is also a competitive exam, but the level of competition and the difficulty of the exam may be lower than that of the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
Q2. Who is eligible for UPPSC exam?
Ans. To be eligible for the UPPSC exam, a candidate must fulfill the following criteria:
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must possess a bachelor's degree from a Govt. recognized university.
