WBCS Eligibility Criteria 2025

The eligibility criteria for WBCS 2025 require candidates to be Indian citizens, aged between 21 and 36 years (with age relaxations for reserved categories), and hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. Candidates must also meet specific physical and medical standards based on the post applied for.

WBCS 2025 Exam Pattern

The WBCS 2025 exam consists of three stages: Preliminary (objective-type), Mains (descriptive-type), and Interview. The Preliminary exam has 200 multiple-choice questions, the Mains exam includes six papers, and the Interview carries 200 marks.

No, there is no mention of Bengali language knowledge being required to take the exam in the WBCS notification. Before being allocated to the service, applicants must be able to communicate with staff members in Bengali.
