
CSIR NET December 2025 Rank List has been released along with the final result for the December session. Candidates who appeared for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET can now check their qualifying status and download the CSIR NET Score Card PDF from the official website.
The result has been declared by the National Testing Agency on 23 February 2026. This announcement is a major milestone for candidates aspiring for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor eligibility across science disciplines in India.
The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2025 examination was conducted on 18 December 2025 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across 220 cities in India.

Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the CSIR NET December 2025 Rank List have qualified under their respective categories, subject to the eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Bulletin.

The CSIR NET December session saw strong nationwide participation.
Total Registered: 2,12,552
Total Appeared: 1,54,080
Female candidates outnumbered male candidates in both registration and appearance, showing a rising trend in research-oriented competitive exams.
Life Sciences recorded the highest participation, followed by Chemical Sciences and Mathematical Sciences. The exam was conducted in two shifts to accommodate all five subjects.
To ensure fairness, NTA followed a transparent evaluation process:
Provisional answer keys were released.
Candidates were allowed to raise objections.
Subject experts reviewed all challenges.
Final answer key was used for preparing the result and rank list.
The CSIR NET December 2025 Rank List is based strictly on the final answer key and percentile scores.
If two candidates score the same percentile, NTA applies the following rules:
A candidate with fewer negative marks ranks higher.
Higher marks in Part C are preferred.
Then Part B marks are compared.
If still tied, the older candidate is given preference.
Qualified candidates can move ahead confidently:
Eligible for research fellowships.
Can apply for funded PhD programs.
JRF award letter is valid for 2 years.
Eligible to apply for faculty positions.
Certificate valid for lifetime as per UGC guidelines.
No separate intimation letter will be issued. Candidates must download certificates directly from the official portal.
JRF Validity: 2 years from date of issue.
Assistant Professor (NET) Certificate: Lifetime validity.
Candidates must ensure enrollment in a PhD program within the validity period to activate the fellowship.
