
The countdown is officially on! The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will commence the Class 12 (Intermediate) Board Exams 2026 from February 2, 2026. With more than 13 lakh students expected to appear across Bihar, the board has issued strict exam day guidelines to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.
Students and parents are strongly advised to follow these instructions carefully, as violation of exam rules may lead to disqualification. Here’s a complete guide to help you stay stress-free on exam day.

Exam Mode: Offline (Pen and Paper)
Shifts:
Morning Shift: 9:30 AM to 12:45 PM
Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM
The Bihar Board has tightened security for the 2026 exams. Students must strictly adhere to the following rules:
Students must reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
Morning shift gate closes at 9:00 AM
Afternoon shift gate closes at 1:30 PM
Late entry will not be allowed under any circumstances.
Carrying a printed copy of the BSEB Class 12 Admit Card 2026 is compulsory.
If there is any issue with the photograph, students should also carry a valid government-issued ID, such as an Aadhaar card, for verification.
Students must not carry the following items:
Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices
Calculators or log tables (unless officially permitted)
Whitener, blades, or correction fluid
Loose papers, books, or chits
Possession of prohibited items may lead to strict disciplinary action.
To ensure smooth frisking, students are advised to wear slippers or sandals.
Closed shoes and socks are generally discouraged unless weather conditions require otherwise.

BSEB provides 15 minutes of extra reading time before the exam starts. Use this time to read the paper carefully and plan your answers.
Use only blue or black ballpoint pens
Avoid gel pens or markers
Fill OMR bubbles carefully to prevent scanning errors
Check whether your OMR sheet and answer booklet contain the correct barcode and printed details.
In case of any error, inform the invigilator immediately.
Visit your exam center a day in advance to avoid last-minute confusion
Carry extra pens and stationery in a transparent pouch
Bring a transparent water bottle to stay hydrated
