The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a detailed assessment scheme for Class 10 students in the Middle East regions after canceling the remaining main examinations. The decision comes following a review of the prevailing situation in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
CBSE had earlier announced that the mode of result declaration for these students would be shared separately. The following guide explains how results will be prepared and what students need to know.
Despite some exams being canceled, CBSE successfully conducted several examinations from 17 February to 28 February 2026. These included:
Academic subjects: 6 subjects, including Mathematics, English, and Science
Language papers: 16 subjects
Skill subjects: 22 examinations
Students were divided into different categories based on the number of exams they appeared for, which determines how their results will be prepared.
CBSE has identified the following categories of students for result preparation:
Students who appeared in all examinations
Students who appeared in four examinations
Students who appeared in three examinations
Students who appeared in two examinations
Private students registered under the compartment category
Results will be declared based on actual performance in the examinations.
Results for the remaining subjects will be calculated using the average of marks in the best three performing subjects.
For the subjects not conducted, results will be computed using the average of marks in the best two performing subjects.
For these candidates, the average marks of the two subjects will be applied to the remaining subjects.
If they appeared in one or two examinations, results will be based on their performance.
If any examination remains, they will be allowed to appear in the second Board examinations.
Results will be declared based on performance in the exams they appeared for.
The results of Middle East students will be declared along with the rest of the students.
Students will have the option to improve their performance through the second Board examinations.
Internal assessments, already completed and submitted by schools, will be considered in the results.
Results prepared using this assessment scheme will be final. No special exams will be conducted except as per CBSE policy.
The decision of the competent authority of CBSE is final.
The assessment scheme for Class 12 students will be communicated separately once finalized.
