The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued Circular No. 04/2026 dated 10 February 2026 (Reminder 2) directing all affiliated schools to complete and upload Practical Examination, Project, and Internal Assessment marks for Classes 10 and 12 by 14 February 2026.
The Board has warned that nearly 30% of schools have not yet completed the process, making this a critical update for students appearing in the 2026 Board Examinations.
Here’s what students and parents need to know.
CBSE has clearly stated that the following must be completed and uploaded by 14 February 2026:
Practical Examination marks
Project work marks
Internal Assessment marks
Internal Grades
Internal Assessment marks
No extension has been announced so far.
Internal assessments and practical exams carry significant weight in final Board results. Any delay or incorrect uploading of marks could:
Affect final result calculation
Create discrepancies in mark sheets
Lead to unnecessary stress during result time
Students should ensure that their schools have completed the marking and uploading process correctly before the deadline.
According to CBSE’s data scrutiny:
About 30% of schools have not completed conducting or uploading marks.
Some schools are still deleting batches and correcting data.
CBSE has made it clear that data correction and deletion options will not be available after 14 February 2026, as the IPS (Integrated Payment System) for Practical Examination 2026 will be launched immediately after the deadline.
This means no changes can be made once the system is locked.
Although uploading is the school’s responsibility, students should:
Confirm with teachers that practical exams and internal assessments are completed.
Ensure project files and records have been submitted properly.
Clarify any attendance or marks-related issues immediately.
Keep proof of project submission if applicable.
Being proactive now can prevent problems later.
CBSE has requested all Principals and Heads of Schools to:
Complete all Internal Assessments, Projects, and Practical marks.
Upload Internal Grades and marks within the deadline.
Ensure accuracy before final submission.
The circular has also been shared with major education bodies, including:
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS)
Directorate of Education (Delhi & other states)
Army, Navy, EMRS, and other institutional schools
All Regional Offices of CBSE
This shows the seriousness of the matter.
For CBSE Board Exams:
Practical and Internal Assessment marks are added to theory marks.
They contribute significantly to the overall percentage.
In some subjects, practical marks can be up to 20–30% of total marks.
Even small discrepancies can impact:
Overall percentage
Eligibility for higher education
Competitive exam cut-offs
As of now, no extension has been announced. Students should assume that 14 February 2026 is the final deadline.
If schools fail to comply, it may delay processes related to practical examination systems and result preparation.
With Board exams approaching:
Focus on final revision.
Ensure all internal components are properly submitted.
Stay in touch with class teachers regarding marks upload.
Keep checking official updates on the CBSE website.
This reminder is primarily for schools, but students must stay alert to ensure their academic records are accurate and complete.
