JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam Day Guidelines: JEE Main 2026 Session 2 is scheduled from April 2 to April 9. On the exam day, students need to follow some important rules set by the National Testing Agency (NTA). These guidelines are mainly about reporting time, documents to carry, dress code and items that are not allowed inside the exam centre. Following these instructions properly will help you avoid last-minute problems at the exam centre. Candidates should also check the details mentioned on their admit card carefully before the exam day. Reaching the centre early is strongly advised because verification and security checks will be done before entry.
Students appearing for the exam should reach the centre at least one hour before the exam time. Entry will not be allowed after the gate closing time. NTA may also conduct biometric verification and face authentication at the centre. Candidates must follow the instructions given by invigilators and remain seated once the exam begins. You should also read all instructions on the computer screen before starting the test. Leaving the exam hall before the exam ends is not allowed.
Students must bring a few important documents and basic items to the exam centre. Without these, entry may be denied. Make sure everything is ready one day before the exam to avoid stress on the exam morning.
Things to carry:
JEE Main 2026 admit card (clear printed copy)
A valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar card / PAN card / Voter ID / Passport / Driving licence)
Duly filled self-declaration form
Passport size photograph (same as uploaded in the application form)
Transparent ballpoint pen
Personal transparent water bottle
Small hand sanitiser (around 50 ml)
Mask and gloves (if required as per guidelines)
PwD certificate (if applicable)
For diabetic candidates: sugar tablets or fruits like banana, apple or orange
There are several items that are strictly not allowed inside the exam hall. If any candidate is found carrying these items, strict action may be taken and the exam may even be cancelled. So it is important to follow the rules carefully.
Students should also avoid wearing clothes with large buttons or thick-soled shoes. Try to wear simple and comfortable clothing to make the checking process faster at the exam centre.
Items not allowed at the exam centre:
Mobile phones or smart devices
Calculators, smart watches or electronic watches
Bluetooth devices or earphones
Printed notes, papers or study material

Bags or wallets with unnecessary items

Following these guidelines will help you enter the exam centre without any issues and focus fully on your JEE Main paper. It is always better to check your admit card instructions once again before leaving home on the exam day.
