  • Letter U-14023/19/NEET(UG Exam)/UGMEB dated 13.01.2026

  • Email from NMC UG Section dated 28.01.2026

Aspirants must carefully check the qualifying examination codes to ensure eligibility for the upcoming NEET (UG) exam, as each code has specific requirements regarding educational background and subject combination.

CODE 01: Candidates Awaiting Class 12 Results

  • Who Can Apply: Students appearing for their qualifying examination (Class 12) with results pending.

  • Important Points:

    • Eligible to appear for NEET-UG 2026, but admission requires passing Class 12 before the first counseling round.

    • Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.

    • Even if studied as additional subjects after Class 12, candidates can appear for NEET.

    • Documentary proof is mandatory for the Eligibility Certificate.

CODE 02: Higher/Senior Secondary or Indian School Certificate

  • Applies to candidates who have completed Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to Class 12.

  • Must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, with practical tests.

  • Flexibility under NEP allows candidates to study these subjects as additional subjects after Class 12.

  • If studying under a foreign/Indian university, an equivalence certificate from the respective university/AIU is required.

CODE 03: Intermediate/Pre-Degree Examination in Science

  • Applies to students who have completed the Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science from a recognized Indian University/Board.

  • Must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (with practicals), and English as a compulsory subject.

CODE 04: Pre-Professional/Pre-Medical Examination

  • Applies to candidates completing a Pre-professional/Pre-medical examination after Higher Secondary or Pre-University education.

  • Must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English, including practicals.

  • English is compulsory for eligibility.

CODE 05: First Year of a Three-Year Degree Course

  • Applies to candidates who have completed the first year of a three-year degree course in a recognized university.

  • Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology with practicals.

  • Earlier qualifying examination must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English at a core level.

CODE 06: B.Sc. Examination of an Indian University

  • Applies to candidates who have completed a B.Sc. degree with at least two subjects among Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology.

  • Earlier qualifying examination must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.

CODE 07: Any Other Equivalent Examination

  • Covers candidates who have passed any other examination equivalent to the last two years of 10+2 Science study.

  • Must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (with practicals), and English.

  • Examination must be recognized as equivalent to Intermediate Science Examination of an Indian University/Board.
