The suspense is reaching its peak for over 13 lakh engineering aspirants as the National Testing Agency (NTA) prepares to announce the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 results. Following the conclusion of the exam on January 29 and the subsequent answer key challenge window, the final scorecards are expected to be live by February 16, 2026.
To ensure you don’t get lost in the digital rush, here is the definitive guide on where and how to check your scores.
With heavy traffic expected, NTA typically hosts results on multiple official mirrors. Aspirants should rely only on these verified portals to access their NTA percentile scores:
https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ (Main Examination Portal)
ntaresults.nic.in (Direct Result Server)
nta.ac.in (NTA Corporate Website)
Checking your result is a straightforward process, but you will need your login credentials ready. Follow these steps:
Navigate to the official NTA JEE Main website at jeemain.nta.ac.in.
Click on the active link titled "JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Scorecard Download" under the 'Candidate Activity' section.
A login window will appear. Enter the following details:
Application Number (found on your Admit Card)
Date of Birth (in DD/MM/YYYY format)
Security Pin (the CAPTCHA code shown on the screen)
Once you hit 'Submit', your NTA Scorecard will appear. It will display your subject-wise percentiles (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and your Total NTA Score.
Download the PDF version of your scorecard. It is mandatory to keep at least 2–3 printed copies for the JoSAA/CSAB counselling process and admission verification.
It is important to remember that JEE Main results are reported as Percentile Scores, not raw marks.
Normalisation: Since the exam was held in multiple shifts, NTA uses a normalisation process to ensure students in tougher shifts are not at a disadvantage.
What is NTA Score? It indicates the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or less than you in that specific shift.
Note: The All India Rank (AIR) and Category Ranks will only be declared after the completion of Session 2 (April Attempt), taking the best of your two scores into account.
Given that nearly 1.3 million students will be checking their results simultaneously, server lag is common. If the page is slow:
Wait and Refresh: Avoid clicking refresh multiple times; wait at least 2 minutes.
Check Mirrors: Use the alternative links provided above if the primary site is down.
Try Incognito: Sometimes browser cache can cause loading errors; using a private window often helps.
Next Steps: Students who meet the cut-off (expected around 93+ percentile for General category) will be eligible to register for JEE Advanced 2026. For those looking to improve, registrations for the April Session are currently open.
