LIC ADO 2023: The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is one of the biggest insurance companies in India. It offers a wide range of insurance products and services to meet the needs of people from all walks of life. The LIC Apprentice Development Officer (ADO) is a key position in the company. The ADO's job is to sell insurance policies, meet with potential clients, and raise awareness about insurance in their assigned areas.

Stipend & Remuneration

The LIC of India provides a stipend to apprentices who are chosen to be Apprentice Development Officers. The monthly stipend is equal to the minimum of the basic pay and dearness allowance for Development Officers and is currently around 51,500/- for those who are not part of the LIC Employee Category. Once hired as a probationary development officer, the starting salary is 35,650/-, which increases to 40,050/-, 45,240/-, and so on, up to 90,205/-. The salary may be increased for those working in "A" category cities by a house rent allowance and a city compensatory allowance, making the total salary around 56,000/-. In addition to the salary, Development Officers who are rehired get benefits like a gratuity, a pension, medical benefits, insurance, a vehicle advance, reimbursement for briefcases and cell phones, and performance-based bonuses.

Job Requirement

The job of an Apprentice Development Officer is mainly a sales job that requires a lot of movement and travel. The person who gets this job will be in charge of finding and training life insurance agents, selling insurance policies, and giving good customer service to policyholders. This job is available in both urban and rural areas, and the selected candidate will be required to work in those areas. It is possible that the candidate may be posted to a nearby division within the zone. It is important to note that being an Apprentice Development Officer does not guarantee an appointment as a Probationary Development Officer.

Probation

If an Apprentice Development Officer completes the apprenticeship programme and the Recruiting Authority determines that the officer is qualified for a position with the corporation, the Apprentice Development Officer may be offered a position as a Probationary Development Officer. Probation will initially last for one year and can be extended if necessary. A development officer's confirmation to their position is contingent upon a positive review of their work.

Eligibility Conditions

To be eligible for recruitment as an Apprentice Development Officer, the candidate must belong to one of three categories: LIC Agents, LIC Employees, or Others (Open Market). LIC Agents must be either individuals appointed by the Life Insurance Corporation of India to solicit insurance business or individuals appointed as agents under the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Agents) Regulations, 2017. Employees of LIC must be proven to be full-time salaried employees of LIC of India in the Class III cadre. For all categories, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised university in India or the Fellowship of the Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai. The bachelor's degree must be from a university, institute, or board recognised by the Government of India, and the result must have been declared on or before January 1, 2023. The spouse of an agent is not eligible for recruitment. The candidate must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of January 1, 2023, and must have been born between January 2, 1993, and January 1, 2002.

LIC Agents Category Not less than 5 years as an LIC agent or other than an agent, such as a DSA or FSE, and has generated net first-year premium income of not less than 5,00,000/- over the immediately preceding 5 financial years, with a minimum of 1,00,000/- on 50 lives in any three of these financial years. Not less than 4 years as an LIC agent or other than an agent, such as DSAs or FSEs, and has brought in a net first-year premium income of not less than 1,00,000/- on 50 lives per year in any three of the previous four fiscal years.
Others Category (Open Market) People who have worked in the life insurance industry or sold financial products for at least two years will have an advantage.

Selection Procedure

Online tests will be used to decide who gets hired, and those who do well on the online tests will then have an interview and a pre-recruitment medical exam. Category for Online Tests for Others (Open Market) For candidates from the open market category, the online exam will be done in two parts: the preliminary exam and the main exam.

Phase I. An initial look at the situation

Online, there will be objective tests for the Preliminary Examination. There will be three parts to the test, and each will have its own time limit.

The English Language Test will be a way to see if you meet the requirements, but the results will not be used to rank you. For the main exam, the number of candidates chosen will be 20 times the number of open spots in each category, if there are any.

Phase II. The Main Test

The main test, which is made up of objective questions, will be given online. The main test will be made up of objective tests worth a total of 160 points and 120 minutes.

(II) Online Test for LIC Employees and LIC Agents

The Main Examination will be the only test that LIC agents and LIC employees who want to be Apprentice Development Officers will have to take. It will be a multiple-choice test that will be done online and worth 160 points. The whole time for the objective test will be two hours, or 120 minutes.
