| Mother Tongue | Kannada, Tulu, and Kodava must be the candidate's native languages. Additionally, between the first and last grades, the candidate must have lived in Kannada for at least seven years. |
| Educational Qualification | The candidate must have passed the second PUC/10+2 or any test that is similar with at least 45% in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Electronics. (For the category that is reserved). |
| Nationality | Candidates must be a citizens of India. |
| Domicile | Candidates should have passed the SSLC/10th or 2nd PUC/12th standard exam from Karnataka. |
