KCET Eligibility Criteria 2026

Mother Tongue Kannada, Tulu, and Kodava must be the candidate's native languages. Additionally, between the first and last grades, the candidate must have lived in Kannada for at least seven years.
Educational Qualification The candidate must have passed the second PUC/10+2 or any test that is similar with at least 45% in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science, and Electronics. (For the category that is reserved).
Nationality Candidates must be a citizens of India.
Domicile Candidates should have passed the SSLC/10th or 2nd PUC/12th standard exam from Karnataka.

KCET Educational Qualification 2026

The candidates can go through the details of KCET Educational Qualification 2026, which has been mentioned below.
  • Candidates must have earned a passing grade in their PUC or class 12 test. You can also apply for KCET 2026 if you have previously taken the class 12th/PUC exam and are awaiting your results.
  • Candidates who have completed their Class 12 or PUC at the Karnataka State Open University are ineligible to enroll for the KCET 2026.
  • Candidates must have taken Physics and Mathematics as required courses in class 12 in addition to Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Electronics, Computer Science, and English as an elective.
  • To qualify, candidates need to have scored at least 45% overall in the optional subjects (45% for SC, ST, Category-I, and OBC (2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B) category candidates).

KCET Age Limit 2026

According to the KCET Age Limit 2026, candidates whose ages are above 17 years are only eligible to apply for the Karnataka CET Exam. Candidates of Special Category can get an age exception of 5 to 6 years.

  • Candidates must have passed 12th standard with a minimum 45% marks in PCM/PCB
  • English should be one of the compulsory languages.
  • For SC/ST, the minimum marks is 40%
B.Arch
  • Candidates must have passed class 12th with a minimum of 50% in PCM
  • Candidates must have appeared in JEE Mains Paper or NATA
  • For SC/ST, the minimum qualifying marks is 45%.
B.VSc and AH
  • Candidates must have cleared 12th with English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • A practical test will be conducted for B.VSc and AH candidates.
B.Pharma
  • Candidates must have cleared 12th class with PCM or PCB.
  • For SC/ST, the minimum qualifying marks is 40% and for the General category is 45%.

  • Candidates must have passed class 12 with PCMB.
  • Candidates who want to take admission through the Agriculture Quota will have to go through a practice test. The result of this test will have 50% weightage in the final admission process.

The KCET Eligibility Criteria 2026 Nationality records that the candidates who are going to apply for the KCET 2026 must be citizens of India.
