CUET UG 2024: Over 13 Lakhs Students Registered, English Remains Most Popular

CUET UG 2024 : As per the data shared by NTA, more than 13 lakh candidates have registered for the exam. English has recorded the highest number of registrations in CUET UG 2024.

Over 13 Lakhs Students Registered For CUET

CUET UG 2024 : NTA has conducted CUET UG 2024 Registration process on April 5, 2024. Over 13 lakh applications have been received by NTA for CUET UG 2024. As per the data shared by the National Testing Agency (NTA), a total number of 13,47,618 students have applied for CUET UG 2024 exam.

This year the number of registrations has decreased slightly from last year’s 14.99 lakh registrations. In the previous year, more than 803 lakh male candidates, 6.96 lakh female candidates, and 16 transgender candidates registered for the exam. However, in CUET 2024, 7.17 lakh male candidates, 6.30 lakh female candidates, and 7 transgender candidates have applied for the exam. In the previous year, 11,16,018 unique candidates appeared for the CUET UG exam, out of which 6,02,028 were male, 5,13,978 were female and 12 were transgender. However, the number of total registrations is higher than the first year’s 9.9 lakh candidates.

CUET UG 2024: Subject-wise Registration

Same as last year, CUET UG 2024 English subject has the highest number of registrations. The total number of students registered for CUET UG exam has increased from 7.19 lakh in the previous year to 10.07 lakh in 2024.

English and General test has the top 2 spots in terms of total number of registrations. After the English and General Test, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry have recorded the highest number of registrations in CUET UG 2024. Subjects which has the least number of registrations are Maithali (50 registrations), Tibetan (41 registrations), Italian (51 registrations), Sindhi language (8 registrations), Konkani (9 registrations), Dogri (77 registrations), Russian (86 registrations) and Chinese (93 registrations). In CUET UG 2023, more than 22,000 candidates have scored 100 percentile marks. English, Biology, and Economics hold the maximum number of top scorers. In domain-specific subjects such as Accountancy, Biology, Business Studies, Economics, English, History, and Political science, also have more than 1000 students with 100 percentile scores.

Q.1 : What was the last date of CUET UG 2024 Registration?

Ans. The last date of CUET UG 2024 registration was April 5, 2024. NTA has started CUET UG 2024 registration on February 27, 2024.

Q.2. What is CUET UG 2024 Exam date?

Ans. As per the schedule, CUET UG 2024 exam date is from May 15 to 31, 2024. NTA has not released the exam date sheet yet.
