Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam Pattern 2026 presents the structure for the Karnataka Class 12 board exams, conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE), Karnataka. Examinations conducted offline, with a total duration of 3 hours for each subject. Each paper carries 100 marks and is divided into the theory and internal assessment components. 

The theory exam consists of multiple-choice, short-answer, and long-answer questions to test overall understanding and application abilities. Languages, sciences, mathematics, and other commerce-stream subjects are offered; some have practical examinations too. Students must attain overall passing marks by obtaining a minimum of 33% separately in theory and practicals. The board will publish detailed blueprints and model papers to help students prepare for the exams.

Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam Pattern 2026 for Mathematics

The Mathematics question paper for the Karnataka 2nd PUC exam in 2025 will consist of five parts, A, B, C, D, and E. It is required that students attempt the questions in each of these sections, as they are all mandatory. 

Part A: consists of 20 mandatory questions with a mark of one, five fill-in-the-blank questions, and five questions with a mark per Very Short Answer.

Part B: Six of the eleven questions have to be answered, and each question is worth two marks.

Part C: Six of the eleven questions must be answered, and each question is worth three marks.

Part D: Four of the eight questions, each worth five marks, must be answered.

Part E: There are two questions with choices (a) and (b) worth six and four marks, respectively.

 Changes Introduced in Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam Pattern 2026 

Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam Pattern 2026 does not have significant changes from the years prior. The theory papers will be conducted for 70, 80, or 100 marks based on the subject role. As with previous years, practical examinations or internal assessments will factor into the examination. Each subject will remain for 3 hours. The question papers will include combinations of multiple choice questions, short answers, and long answer questions. 

Students will be required to score an overall 33% mark and again 33% marks in the practical alone in order to pass. The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) will still be providing model papers and blueprints for subjects such as geography, history and accountancy on their portal, to assist with student preparation and study.

Is 2nd PUC syllabus reduced 2026?

As of now, there are no updates regarding any reduction in the 2nd PUC syllabus for 2026It is expected to remain similar to the 2024 syllabus. Students are advised to regularly check the official website for any new announcements or changes.

How many marks are allocated per subject?

: Each subject is generally for 100 marks, including theory (70-80 marks) and practical/internal assessments (20-30 marks).

What is the passing marks for 2nd PUC 2026?

To pass PUC Karnataka 2nd year, students have to score at least 25 marks in the theory examinations and to pass the practical exam, students have to score at least 11 marks. For Maths paper students have to score 35 marks out of 100 to pass the exam.
