NEET 2025 Cut Off Deciding Factors

Several important factors influence the NEET 2025 cut-off marks. These factors help decide how high or low the cut-off will be for different categories and colleges. The main deciding factors are:

  • Number of Candidates Appearing: More students can lead to higher competition, which may raise the cut-off.

  • Difficulty Level of the Paper: If the exam is tough, the cut-off may be lower; if it's easy, the cut-off may rise.

  • Total Available Seats: The number of MBBS, BDS, and other medical seats also affects the cut-off.

  • Candidate Performance: The overall performance of students in the exam can directly impact the cut-off.

  • Category-Wise Reservation: SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD category cut-offs are separately decided based on reservation rules.

  • Previous Year Trends: Last year’s cut-off marks often influence expectations and planning for the current year.

How to Calculate NEET 2025 Cut Off

The NEET 2025 cut off is the minimum marks you need to qualify for admission. It depends on factors like total marks, category, and exam difficulty. To estimate your cut off:

Know the Total Marks: NEET is usually out of 720 marks.

Check the Qualifying Percentage: For example, General category candidates usually need about 50% marks to qualify, while reserved categories need less (like 40-45%).

Calculate Minimum Marks: Multiply the total marks by the qualifying percentage.

For General category: 720 × 50% = 360 marks (approximate qualifying cut off)

For OBC/SC/ST: 720 × 40% = 288 marks (approximate)

Compare with Previous Years: Look at past year cut offs to get a better idea as official cut offs vary every year.

NEET 2025 Marks Vs Rank

NEET 2025 Marks vs Rank helps students know what rank they might get based on their exam marks. If a student scores very high, like 720 marks, they can get All India Rank (AIR) 1. If the marks are less, the rank number becomes bigger.

The rank in NEET 2025 depends on three main things:

  • The total marks a student scores

  • How many students gave the exam

  • How hard the paper was
