The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) has officially announced the CAT 2025 Result on the IIM CAT Official Website, iimcat.ac.in. Candidates who appeared for the Common Admission Test can now log in to check their CAT exam performance and proceed with the CAT scorecard download process.
Earlier, the provisional answer keys and response sheets were released, enabling aspirants to evaluate their expected performance before the final declaration. With the result now live, candidates can access their CAT scorecard, which reflects both sectional and overall performance after normalisation.
The CAT scorecard provides a detailed snapshot of a candidate’s performance, including scaled scores and percentiles CAT uses to ensure fairness across different exam slots. Since CAT is conducted in multiple sessions, raw marks are adjusted through a normalisation process to maintain parity.
Section-wise performance is clearly mentioned for:
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
Quantitative Ability (QA)
Along with sectional scores, the overall percentile remains the most decisive parameter for shortlisting candidates during the MBA admission process.
Candidates can follow these simple steps for CAT scorecard download from the official portal:
Visit the IIM CAT Official Website at iimcat.ac.in
Click on the “Candidate Login / Result / Scorecard” link
Enter your CAT ID or Registration Number along with the password

Candidates may also use the direct scorecard link available on the official website to download the CAT scorecard quickly.
After downloading the scorecard, candidates should carefully verify the following details:
Candidate’s name
Registration ID and roll number
Exam slot and normalised percentile
Sectional scaled scores for VARC, DILR, and Quantitative Ability
Overall scaled score and overall percentile
These details are crucial as they will be used by IIMs and other institutes during the shortlisting process.
In CAT, score and percentile represent different dimensions of performance. The score indicates the marks obtained by a candidate, either raw or scaled, in each section and overall. The percentile, on the other hand, reflects relative performance by showing the percentage of candidates who scored lower.
For instance, securing a 95 percentile means a candidate has performed better than 95 percent of all test-takers. While scores reflect absolute performance, percentiles are the primary criteria used by institutes as they factor in slot-wise difficulty variations.
With the CAT 2025 result now declared, the next phase of the MBA admission journey begins. The Indian Institute of Management and other participating institutes will soon announce their shortlists based on CAT percentiles, academic background, and work experience.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for further selection stages, including Written Ability Tests (WAT), Group Discussions (GD), and Personal Interviews (PI). These rounds assess communication skills, analytical thinking, and overall personality.
For aspirants, the focus now shifts from exam preparation to interview readiness. While the CAT scorecard opens the door, final admission will depend on performance in the subsequent selection rounds at top management institutes across the country.
