New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will officially activate the Phase 2 post-result activities portal on June 1, 2026. This window allows Class 12 students to apply for mark verification and question-wise re-evaluation. Initially scheduled to open on May 29, the board deferred the launch to strengthen its digital architecture and guarantee a "transparent and glitch-free process" for over 4 lakh applicants.
The move comes amid unprecedented student anxiety regarding the newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. To ensure technical soundness, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan confirmed that top engineering brains from IIT Madras and IIT Kanpur have been deployed to optimize the website backend. Furthermore, the portal's hosting has migrated to Amazon Web Services (AWS) to seamlessly handle high traffic.
According to an official statement by CBSE on X (formerly Twitter):
"In order to ensure a transparent and glitch-free process for verification and re-evaluation of answer books of students who intend to submit their applications on the Post-Result Activities portal, it has been decided that the designated portal will now be operational from 1st June 2026. This is to ensure the highest standards and protocols of evaluation."
The extra time was heavily utilized to rectify portal errors reported during the initial phase, such as captcha failures, blank pages, and unresponsive payment routes. Notably, CBSE has replaced its previous singular payment gateway with four reliable PSU bank options: SBI, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, and Bank of Baroda.
The evaluation review framework operates in a strict sequential order. Missing Stage 1 permanently closes the door on subsequent rechecking options.
Stage 1 (Completed): Requesting scanned digital copies of answer books (Window closed on May 25, 2026). Over 4.04 lakh students requested copies, and the board has digitally delivered more than 8.98 lakh sheets.
Stage 2 (Starting June 1, 2026): Application for verification of discrepancies and question-wise re-evaluation on the official website.
In response to widespread student dissatisfaction over lower-than-expected scores and patchy digital scans, the Ministry of Education introduced a drastic reduction in fees to alleviate financial stress on families:
| Service Type | Original Fee | Revised Fee (2026) |
| Obtaining Scanned Copy | ₹700 per subject | ₹100 per subject |
| Verification of Marks | ₹500 per subject | ₹100 per subject |
| Re-evaluation / Rechecking | ₹100 per question | ₹25 per question |
Important Note: Education Ministry officials have declared that if a student's marks increase after the final re-evaluation round, the processing charges will be fully refunded.
If you have already received your scanned answer key booklet during the first stage, follow these instructions starting June 1:
Visit the Official Link: Go to cbse.gov.in and navigate to the Post-Result Activities Portal (or visit pvr.cbseit.in).
Log In: Enter your Class 12 Roll Number, School Number, and Center Number.
Cross-Check with Marking Scheme: Open your digital answer script alongside the official CBSE Class 12 Marking Scheme 2026 to identify potential unchecked answers, calculation errors, or missed step-marking.
Select Specific Questions: Choose the precise question numbers you wish to challenge. You will apply question-wise rather than requesting a generic blanket review of the entire paper.
Fee Payment: Pay the revised application fee (₹25 per question) using the new secure PSU bank gateways.
Submit & Download: Save your confirmation slip for tracking.
Students must analyze their answer papers carefully before clicking submit. Under CBSE rules, once a paper undergoes re-evaluation, the revised marks are final. Scores may increase, decrease, or remain completely unchanged. Decreased marks will be updated on the final mark sheet, which cannot be reversed.
