A total of 3,158 applicants have been found eligible for Telangana NEET PG counselling round 1. The provisional merit list had earlier marked 3,047 candidates as eligible and 285 as ineligible because they had not submitted the required certificates or proof of local status. Out of these, 111 candidates have now uploaded updated documents and claimed eligibility under both non-service and in-service categories.
The state government recently announced that 85% of PG medical seats under the management quota in private medical colleges will be reserved for local students. Under the existing bond policy, candidates who withdraw after the second phase of counselling or later will face a penalty of ₹50 lakh. Telangana currently has 318 PG medical seats and 70 PG dental seats.
The round 1 counselling schedule will be published on the official website, knruhs.telangana.gov.in. Once released, eligible candidates will need to submit their choices of courses and colleges in order of preference. The MCC has set December 7 as the deadline for all states to complete round 1 PG counselling. The delay in posting the schedule may affect the admission timeline, which has already been pushed due to legal issues and earlier delays.
