  • Computer-Based Test (CBT): It includes two papers. Paper I is for 100 marks, and Paper II is for 50 marks. Only Paper II is qualifying in nature.

  • Physical Screening Test (PST) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Both these tests are qualifying. They assess physical fitness through activities like running and long jump, along with measuring height.

  • Document Scrutiny: In this final stage, all original documents submitted by the candidates will be verified.

Punjab Police Exam Pattern 2026

The Computer-Based Test (CBT) consists of two papers, both featuring objective-type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). 

  • Paper I (Merit Ranking):

    • Total Questions: 100 questions.

    • Duration: 2 hours.

    • Total Marks: 100 marks (1 mark per correct answer).

    • Sections: General Awareness (35), Quantitative Aptitude (20), Mental Ability & Logical Reasoning (20), English Language Skills (10), Punjabi Language Skills (10), and Digital Literacy/Awareness (5).

  • Paper II (Qualifying Only):

    • Subject: Mandatory Punjabi Language test.

    • Total Questions: 50 questions.

    • Total Marks: 50 marks.

    • Requirement: Candidates must score at least 50% (25 marks) to qualify for the next stage.

  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers in either paper.

  • Normalization: Since the exam may be conducted over multiple shifts, scores will be normalized to ensure fairness.

Punjab Police Physical Test Details

The PST is qualifying in nature and consists of the following events based on the candidate category. 

  • Male Candidates (including Ex-Servicemen < 35 years):

    • 1600 Meters Run: To be completed in a maximum of 6 minutes 30 seconds (one chance).

    • Long Jump: 3.80 Meters (three chances).

    • High Jump: 1.10 Meters (three chances).

  • Female Candidates (including Ex-Servicemen < 35 years):

    • 800 Meters Run: To be completed in a maximum of 4 minutes 15 seconds (one chance).

    • Long Jump: 3.00 Meters (three chances).

    • High Jump: 0.95 Meters (three chances).

  • Ex-Servicemen Male (35 years and above):

    • 1400 Meters Walk/Run: To be completed in 12 minutes (one chance).

    • 10 Full Squats: To be completed within 3 minutes (one chance).

  • Ex-Servicemen Female (35 years and above):

    • 800 Meters Run: To be completed in 6 minutes (one chance).
