COMEDK stands for the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. All those candidates interested in taking admission into dental and engineering can give the exam. Colleges in the state of Karnataka have to appear for this exam.

You will be admitted to the colleges of Karnataka based on your score in the COMEDK exam . This is a national-level entrance examination that helps you in getting admission into more than 190 private universities in Karnataka. The exam is very competitive, with thousands of candidates appearing for this exam annually to get admission into the top engineering and dental colleges.

COMEDK is an autonomous body which means that the organisation solely organises the exam without the help of any government-led organisation.

Like the JEE and the NEET exam, the COMEDK exam is also held online in CBT mode. Students from across the country are eligible for this examination. After appearing for the examination, the results are out within a few weeks. Students get admission based on their marks through online counselling.

Students get admission into BE and BTech courses through the help of this examination. The time duration for the COMEDK exam is three hours. The  application fee is Rs.1500, which is compulsory if you are interested in appearing for the exam.

The exam is conducted only in the English language and there is no negative marking. Students get one mark for each correct answer. Around 118 educational institutes across the country accept the COMEDK marks for admissions.

COMEDK Eligibility

You can check the eligibility criteria for the COMEDK exam on the official website. Here are the eligibility criteria you must know if you are interested in appearing for the COMEDK exam.

1. The student must have passed their 12 standards from a school recognised by the Central or the state government with PCM or PCB. Mathematics and English are compulsory subjects for all students.
2. The candidate must score at least 45% marks in their class 12th in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
3. Physics and Mathematics are also compulsory subjects.Candidates with a diploma degree are not eligible for the exam.

COMEDK Application Form

The application is out on the official website of COMEDK . You need to first generate an email for yourself before registering yourself with the help of your phone number. You can then go to the registration section and register yourself there. You will then receive an ID and password for yourself.

After this, you must go to the ‘Go to application’ section. You can fill in your information and submit it to register yourself.  Make sure you fill in the right information and double-check it before submitting it. You can view your details on the preview page. Complete the registration process by submitting the application fee. The application fee is Rs.1800.

COMEDK Syllabus

The syllabus for the COMEDK exam is the same as the syllabus for classes 11th and 12th CBSE  PCM. You can study your NCERT books properly to prepare well for this exam. The level and competition for this exam are pretty high, so you must prepare well to get into a good university. Students also choose to take professional coaching, which is a good idea as it prepares them well for the exam.

The total number of questions is 180. Sixty questions each are asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. You must maintain a healthy lifestyle while preparing for the COMEDK exam.
