Which students are eligible for IELTS? IDP IELTS has no definite eligibility criteria for students. Anyone who wishes to study, live, and work in an English-speaking country can take the IELTS exam irrespective of their age, educational qualification, sex, and nationality. Some popular study-abroad universities may ask for specific IELTS exam eligibility requirements for various courses.
Please note that students under 18 years old must provide parental consent to appear in the test. However, students should have a valid passport to take the test.

The test dates for the IELTS 2025 exam are available throughout the year. The IELTS paper-based test is conducted up to 4 days a month and 48 days a year in various locations. Whereas, IELTS computer-based tests are conducted every day of the week and up to 3 times a day. Candidates can check IELTS Exam Dates 2025 for both test modes. IELTS test results are announced by the IDP within 3-5 days after the commencement of the computer-based test. Whereas, for the pen-paper-based test, test results are released after 13 days of the test. IDP also releases the IELTS TRF (Test report form) on its official website. Students can send up to 5 TRFs free of cost to various universities. Whereas, for more copies, INR 250 is charged for each copy.
The IELTS exam is scored on a 0-9 scale. Each section is scored individually and the total score is the average of all the IELTS four sections: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
