Things to Do During the UPTET Exam

Following specific actions before and during the examination is crucial for a smooth experience. These guidelines help ensure compliance with examination protocols. Candidates should prepare accordingly to avoid any last-minute issues.

  • Arrive on Time: Reach the examination center at least 45 minutes before the exam begins. Entry closes 45 minutes before the start time.

  • Bring Required Documents: Carry your admit card, a valid photo identification proof, and three recent passport-size photographs for verification.

  • Use Only Permitted Stationery: Bring your own clipboard, ensuring it has no writing. Use only a black ink ballpoint pen for the examination.

  • Verify Examination Materials: Before starting, check your question booklet and OMR answer sheet for missing pages or printing errors. Immediately inform the invigilator if you find any issues.

  • Fill OMR Carefully: Ensure all details and circles on the OMR answer sheet and attendance sheet are filled correctly. Mistakes cannot be corrected later. You are responsible for any errors.

  • Carry a Transparent Water Bottle: Candidates may bring a transparent water bottle for personal use.

  • Differently-Abled Candidates: If applicable, bring your own scribe, a valid disability certificate, and identity proof for both yourself and the scribe.

UPTET 2026 Reporting Time and Gate Closing Time

Candidates must report well before the examination begins. According to the official instructions, entry to the examination centre will close 45 minutes before the start of the exam. After the gates close, no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall under any circumstances.

  • One photocopy of the ID proof

  • Three recent passport-size photographs

Things to Avoid During the UPTET Exam

Certain actions are strictly prohibited and can lead to severe consequences. Candidates must be aware of these restrictions to prevent disqualification or legal penalties. Non-compliance with these rules is not tolerated.

  • No Late Entry: Candidates arriving after the official entry deadline will not be permitted inside the examination center.

  • No Cheating: Using unfair means, copying, impersonation, or leaking question papers is a serious offense. This is punishable under the UP Public Examination Act, 2024. Penalties include fines up to ₹1 crore and life imprisonment.

  • No Prohibited Items: Do not bring tables, graph sheets, calculators, slide rules, or any other unauthorized materials into the examination hall.

  • No Stationery Exchange: Sharing any stationery, including pens, with other candidates inside the examination hall is forbidden.

  • No Leaving the Room: Once you are inside the examination hall, you cannot leave until the examination is officially over.

  • No Erasing on OMR Sheets: Do not use whitener, blades, or erasers to correct mistakes on the OMR sheet. Incorrectly filled details may result in your answer sheet not being evaluated.

  • Do Not Detach Answer Sheet Copies: Candidates must submit the OMR answer sheet as a complete unit. Only the invigilator is authorized to separate copies and return your candidate's copy.

  • No Responsibility for Lost Items: If you bring unauthorized items, they must be deposited outside the examination hall. The Commission holds no responsibility for their loss.

Candidates are permitted to carry only essential items such as:

  • Printed admit card

  • Original photo ID proof

  • Three passport-size photographs

  • Black ballpoint pen

  • Plain clipboard or hardboard without any writing

  • Transparent water bottle

Candidates must not carry any of the following items inside the examination hall:

  • Mobile phones

  • Smart watches or wrist watches

  • Bluetooth devices

  • Earphones

  • Calculators

  • Tablets or laptops
