Orunodoi 3.0: Orunodoi was announced in the Budget 2020–21 to support poor and financially weak women by giving them monthly financial help. To improve the system, the government will end Orunodoi 1.0 and 2.0 and launch Orunodoi 3.0 with better rules and processes.

Eligible women from previous phases will not be deleted unless they are excluded by the new guidelines. A beneficiary shall be an NFSA beneficiary to avail benefits under Orunodoi 3.0; Aadhaar seeding is to be used for smooth and transparent payments.

What is Orunodoi 3.0?

Orunodoi 3.0 represents the newest development in the Assam government’s social welfare scheme, where each woman belonging to the low-income category is offered monthly assistance to deal with household requirements. As per the new revised format, beneficiaries receive ₹1,250 every month directly into their accounts. Furthermore, the revised format increases the payment to ₹1,500 starting January 2026.

An applicant will be included in the scheme if she meets any one of the following conditions:

  1. A widow or an unmarried woman above 45 years of age

  2. A transgender person

  3. A person with a disability, as defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016

  4. An elderly or sick woman, including those living in government-approved old age homes

  5. A woman whose family members who earn are either disabled or above 60 years of age

  6. A woman from a family where any member is suffering from HIV, Thalassemia, Haemophilia, Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy, or Autism Spectrum Disorder

  7. A woman who does not have a proper shelter

  8. A destitute woman who survives by begging

  9. A woman beneficiary under Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY)

  10. A woman from a household with a total yearly income of less than ₹2 lakh
