  • Residential Status: Candidates should be permanent residents of India.

  • Educational Level: Students need to be currently enrolled in either Class 9 or Class 11 at a school recognised by the government.

  • Income Limit: The annual parental/guardian income from all sources should not exceed ₹2.50 lakh. An income proof document is mandatorily required.

  • Gender: Both male and female students are welcome to apply.

  • Age: For Class 9 students, the age should be between 10 to 14 years. For Class 11 students, it is between 16 to 18 years.

Applying for the Yasasvi scholarship is a multi-step process. It is to be completed by the applicant on the official National Scholarship Portal. The application process involves the following steps:

  1. Registration: Students must register on the official National Testing Agency (NTA) website for PM-YASASVI. This step involves providing a valid email ID and mobile number.

  2. Form Filling: The application form requires personal details, educational qualifications, and family income information.

  3. Document Upload: Necessary documents, including income certificates, caste certificates, and academic mark sheets, must be scanned and uploaded in the specified format.

  4. Fee Payment: There is no application fee for the PM-YASASVI scholarship.

  5. Submission: After reviewing all entries, the application is submitted online. A confirmation page appears, which applicants should download for future reference.

Exam Pattern

The PM Yasasvi exam pattern is designed to assess general aptitude and knowledge. The YASASVI Entrance Test (YET) is conducted to get this evaluation done. Students should familiarise themselves with the exam pattern and structure to prepare effectively.

  • Mode of Exam: The exam is conducted offline using an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet for responses.

  • Type of Questions: All questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • Total Questions: The test comprises 100 questions.

  • Total Marks: The maximum marks achievable are 400. Each correct answer is allotted 4 marks.

  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.

  • Duration: Candidates are allotted 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test.

  • Subjects: The YET covers four main subjects:

  • Mathematics (30 questions)

  • Science (20 questions)

  • Social Science (25 questions)

  • General Awareness (25 questions)

Students who want to apply for the scholarship must keep all the Yasasvi documents required ready before starting the application process. Incomplete or wrong documentation can lead to rejection of the application. The documents required include the following:

  • Aadhar Card: A mandatory identification proof for all applicants.

  • Caste Certificate: Proof of belonging to the OBC, EBC, or DNT categories. This must be issued by a competent authority.

  • Income Certificate: An official document confirming the annual family income.

  • Class 8 Mark Sheet (for Class 9 applicants): Academic performance proof from the previous class.

  • Bank Account Details: A copy of the bank passbook showing the account number and IFSC code for scholarship disbursal.

  • This amount helps cover tuition fees, hostel charges, and other educational expenses.

  • Disbursal occurs through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode, ensuring transparency.
