BEL Probationary Engineer Selection Process 2025: The selection methodology for BEL Probationary Engineer 2025 comprises two stages viz. Computer-Based Test and Interview. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be invited to an online examination. Based on their performance in the exam, candidates will be shortlisted for Interviews in the ratio of 1:5.

Candidates from the General, OBC (NCL), EWS, and ESM categories must receive a minimum score of 35% to pass the computer-based test, while those from the SC, ST, and PwBD categories must receive a minimum score of 30%. Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews in a 1:5 ratio based on their performance on the computer-based test.

BEL Probationary Engineer Selection Process 2025

Bharat Electronics Limited has specified the selection criteria for Probationary Engineer (E-II Grade) under the official notification. Candidates satisfying the eligibility norms will be selected based on their performance in the written exam followed by an interview. The merit list will be prepared by combining the marks of both stages having a weightage of 85% for the written test and 15% for the Interview.

  • Candidates who match the eligibility requirements and have had their online applications accepted will be temporarily shortlisted for the computer-based test.
  • Candidates will be temporarily shortlisted for interviews based on their performance in the computer-based test.
  • Performance in both the computer-based test and the interview will determine the candidate's selection.
  • Candidates must log in and submit their credentials to the BEL website in order to view and receive their computer-based test call letter if they meet the eligibility requirements and their online applications are accepted. Candidates are required to print the call letter and they must follow the instructions it contains. Please take note that neither email nor regular mail will be used to deliver call letters.
  • Candidates are eligible to take the computer-based test at the assigned centre if their applications are accepted through the procedure of submitting online applications. The CBT test is tentatively held in March 2025.
  • Candidates should select the five exam locations closest to their correspondence address. According to the test center's availability, test centres will be assigned. No requests for test centre changes will be honored. The candidates' travel expenses to take the computer-based exam will not be covered.

BEL Probationary Engineer Exam Pattern

The BEL Probationary Engineer Exam will be conducted through a Computer-Based Test comprising a total of 125 objective-based questions. Out of these, 100 questions focus on technical subjects relevant to the engineering disciplines, while the remaining 25 questions are from general aptitude and reasoning skills.

Candidates will be allotted a time duration of 120 minutes to complete the exam. Each question carries 1 mark, but there is a penalty of 1/4 mark for each incorrect answer. The question paper will be available in both English and Hindi.
