1. First Tier Examination: An online Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 marks. Candidates scoring 50 or more marks (for unreserved) and 45 or more marks (for reserved, including EWS and PwD) will be called for the Second Tier Examination.

2. Second Tier Examination: Another online CBT of 100 marks for candidates who qualify the First Tier. The final ranking will be based solely on marks obtained in this tier. A minimum cut-off of 50 marks (for unreserved) and 45 marks (for reserved) is required for selection.

3. Merit List and Allotment: A merit list will be prepared based on the Second Tier examination marks and company preferences. In case of ties, older candidates by date of birth will be prioritized.

4. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Selected candidates will undergo document verification and a pre-employment medical examination.

Both tiers will have question papers in English and Gujarati (except for the Gujarati subject questions in the 1st tier). There will be a negative marking of 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.

MGVCL JE Salary & Job Profile 2026

Selected candidates for the MGVCL JE Recruitment 2026 will initially be appointed as Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Engineer-Electrical) for a period of two years. During this tenure, they will receive a fixed remuneration.

During the first year, the fixed remuneration will be ₹48,100/-, increasing to ₹50,700/- in the second year. 

No other allowances or benefits are admissible during this period, except for TA/DA reimbursement as per rules. After satisfactory completion of two years as Vidyut Sahayak, candidates may be considered for a regular appointment as Junior Engineer-Electrical, with a pay scale of ₹45400-101200/-. 

The primary job responsibility will involve technical work, and postings can be in any office under the jurisdiction of the subsidiary companies (MGVCL, DGVCL, UGVCL, PGVCL, and GETCO).
