ONGC Recruitment 2026: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India has announced the ONGC E1 level recruitment for Geologists and Engineers. Candidates’ selection will be based on the Computer-Based Test (CBT) exam. The selection process comprises the CBT exam of 85 marks, and the interview round is of 15 marks. Candidates should know that there is no negative marking. Candidates can submit the applications before July 31, 2026. CBT exam will be conducted on September 6, 2026.
The Cost-to-Company (CTC) is approximately ₹26 Lakhs. The E1 Level salary slab ranges from ₹60,000 to ₹1,80,000. The estimated take-home salary is over ₹1 Lakh per month. Annual increments are 3% of the basic pay.
Additional benefits include 35% of basic pay, cafeteria approach, Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), company accommodations, and Contributory Provident Fund.
Candidates must possess a graduate degree with a minimum of 60% marks in the relevant engineering discipline. The total vacancies announced are 52.

Petroleum Engineering: 9 vacancies.
Mechanical Engineering: 27 vacancies (General: 12, OBC NCL: 6, SC: 5, ST: 1, EWS: 3).
Chemical Engineering: 10 vacancies.
Instrumentation Engineering: 2 vacancies.

The selection process comprises three stages: Computer Based Test (CBT), Interview, and Medical Fitness. The final shortlisting is based on a total of 100 marks, with the following weightage:
CBT Score Weightage: 85 marks
Interview Weightage: 15 marks
The CBT will have a total of 85 marks, corresponding to the CBT score weightage in the selection process. The Total Time allocated for the exam is approximately 120 minutes. A significant advantage for candidates is that there is No Negative Marking for incorrect answers, allowing candidates to attempt all questions.
The question distribution for the CBT is as follows:
Concerned Domain (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation, Geology): 40 questions.
General Awareness: 10 questions.
Aptitude Test: 25 questions.
English Language: 10 questions.
