Aditya from Bihar secured selection in RRB JE 2025 after putting in consistent effort for his second opportunity. A BTech graduate from the 2023 batch, he prepared while living away from home in Bhagalpur and also taught tuition to manage his expenses.
His journey became more challenging after he missed the CBT 2 opportunity in his previous attempt. Instead of giving up, Aditya used the setback as motivation and prepared with a strict routine. He was also associated with PW's RRB JE Express Batch, where repeated revision, practice, and mock tests became an important part of his preparation.
Aditya had already experienced the disappointment of missing the train in his previous attempt. That setback became a strong reason for him to work harder for RRB JE 2025.
Talking about his selection, he said:
“Ek sapna tha ghar pe sarkari job hona chahiye. To uske liye main aur kahin na kahin mehnat bhi bahut kiya tha. Pichhli baar train miss hua tha CBT 2 mein, to bahut frustrated the.”
He added:
“Isliye aise mann bhi tha ki badla lena hai ki bhai sir to phodna hai. That's why yahi ek motivation tha mera.”
This time, Aditya was determined to complete the journey that had remained unfinished in his previous attempt.
After completing his BTech in 2023, Aditya stayed in Bhagalpur and taught students to manage his expenses. He had to balance teaching and preparation without depending completely on his family for financial support.
He explained:
“Main actually chaar se paanch tuition padhata tha. Chhe ghante tuition hote the mere.”
Aditya mainly taught Class 9 and 10 students. He also used his tuition hours for revision whenever his students were solving questions.
“Baaki samay wo agar question bana rahe hote the to main apne tab pe revise karte rehta tha.”
This allowed him to continue his preparation even with a packed daily schedule.
Aditya had been associated with PW's RRB JE preparation and joined the RRB JE Express Batch. He particularly focused on revising the class notes repeatedly and then practising through mock tests.
He recalled:
“Main RRB JE Express Batch se tha ma'am.”
Aditya followed the repeated-revision approach suggested during his preparation. His Production preparation was one of the areas where he found the PW classes particularly useful.
He said:
“Aap jo padhate the uske baad... maine kitni baar revision kiya hoga main khud bhool gaya, kyunki din bhar revise hi karta rehta tha.”
He also practised mock tests regularly. According to him, this practice helped him develop the presence of mind needed for CBT 2.
Production was an important part of Aditya's CBT 2 preparation. He attempted 48 out of 50 Production questions and got 47 correct.
When asked about the questions, he said:
“Out of 50, 48 questions maine attempt kiye the. Isme dekhiye mera 47 tha, ek galat tha bas.”
He also credited the class notes and previous-year question practice for helping him handle the section.
“Class note se... aap pehle bhi bolte the ki aap previous year lagao.”
Aditya felt that one missed topic affected his score, as he had not revised the compressor topic properly.
“Main compressor padh ke nahi gaya, warna 90 plus ho jata. Last mein maine revise nahi kiya usko.”
His experience shows why completing revision of all important topics can make a difference in CBT 2.
Aditya created a detailed schedule around tuition, self-study, meals and revision. He woke up around 8 AM, prepared his food, studied non-technical subjects in the morning and then worked on technical preparation later.
He explained:
“Subah main 8:00 baje ke kareeb uth jata tha ma'am.”
His preparation continued through the day, including during his tuition hours. He carried his tablet with him and used the time when students were solving questions to revise his own notes.
He also deliberately stayed away from social media during the final preparation phase.
“Teen chaar mahine na maine WhatsApp use kiya, na Facebook, na Telegram kuch bhi nahi. No social media.”
Aditya's routine was built around keeping distractions low and using even small pockets of time for revision.
Aditya also focused on mock tests to improve his presence of mind and option elimination.
He said:
“CBT 2 is all about ki aapka presence of mind, aapka mind, aap option eliminate kar pao wahan dekh ke.”
He also advised aspirants not to panic if they encounter questions that appear outside their preparation.
“Bas ghabrana nahi hai. Question aise the ma'am ke jo aap padhe nahi the. Phir bhi aap agar options ko eliminate karna chahenge to easily eliminate ho jayega.”
For Aditya, mock tests were important because they helped him practise this decision-making under time pressure.
Aditya had two hours for his CBT 2 paper but completed the paper much earlier. He finished it in around 1 hour and 10 minutes and maintained reasonable accuracy.
He shared:
“Mera do ghante ka paper tha, maine ek ghanta 10 minute mein hi poora complete ho gaya tha mera.”
He also chose to leave questions when he was not confident instead of making unnecessary attempts.
“Maine leave kar diya, kyunki mujhe pata tha ki ye MCQ hai. Waise attempt karne se koi fayda hai nahi.”
This approach helped him protect his accuracy while moving through the paper efficiently.
With 87.75 marks in CBT 1, Aditya cleared all the posts and continued preparing for CBT 2 while keeping the expected RRB JE cut-off in mind.
His preparation involved financial independence, long study hours, repeated revision and learning from his previous setback. His family also continued to support his goal throughout the process.
Talking about his mother's support, Aditya said:
“Mummy kabhi bhi matlab aisa nahi tha ki ye nahi boli ki tum nahi kar paoge. Itna umar ho gaya hai, ab tum jo hai kuch karo kaam karo.”
He also remembered how his mother reacted when he missed the previous opportunity:
“Jab train chhuta tha to sabse zyada mummy roi thi. Bahut support kiya.”
Aditya's selection finally gave his family the RRB JE Result they had been waiting for.
Aditya's biggest advice is to stay consistent and use every available opportunity for revision. His own preparation shows how small pockets of time can be used productively when the overall goal is clear.
He also emphasised staying calm during CBT 2:
“Bas ghabrana nahi hai.”
For unfamiliar questions, he recommended using option elimination instead of panicking. He also believes mock tests are important for developing this presence of mind.
Aditya's journey from a missed CBT 2 opportunity to RRB JE 2025 selection shows the value of persistence, repeated revision, practice and disciplined time management.
