SSC JE CBT-2 2026 Dress Code: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has set some guidelines for the male and female candidates regarding the SSC JE CBT-2 2026 Dress Code. SSC JE CBT 2 exam 2026 will begin from April 7, 2026. All the candidates need to follow the dress code guidelines. It is convenient for the security authorities to complete the security check. Therefore, security can allow the candidates to appear for the Junior Engineer CBT 2 examination.

SSC JE CBT-2 2026 Dress Code Guidelines have been set by the commission. Candidates should follow the clothing and footwear-related guidelines to appear for the examination. 

Allowed Clothing for All Candidates

The main rule for the exam is to keep things simple. Candidates should wear light clothes that do not have many pockets or heavy designs.

  • Shirts and Tops: It is best to wear half-sleeve shirts or T-shirts. If a candidate wears full sleeves, they may be asked to fold them up to the elbow.

  • Bottoms: Plain trousers or simple jeans are allowed. Avoid "cargo" pants because they have too many pockets.

  • Buttons: Clothes should have small buttons. Large or fancy decorative buttons are not allowed.

Rules for Footwear

The exam centre has strict rules about what goes on your feet.

  • Slippers and Sandals: Candidates are advised to wear open footwear like slippers or sandals with thin soles.

  • No Shoes: Avoid wearing shoes, especially those with thick soles. Security staff often ask candidates to remove shoes before entering the room.

Prohibited Accessories and Items

Many items are strictly banned inside the exam hall. If a candidate brings these, they might not be allowed to enter.

  • Jewellery: Do not wear rings, earrings, nose pins, chains, or bracelets. Metal items can set off the metal detectors.

  • Gadgets: Digital watches, smartwatches, mobile phones, and Bluetooth devices are strictly forbidden.

  • Other Items: Belts with large metal buckles, caps, scarves, and wallets should be left outside.

SSC JE CBT-2 Shift Timing

SSC JE CBT-2 exam will begin from April 7, 2026, in three shifts of two hours duration each for the shift. 

  • Shift 1: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

  • Shift 2: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM

  • Shift 3: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Important Time Details

  • Exam Duration: 2 Hours (120 minutes).

  • Scribe Candidates: 2 Hours and 40 minutes.

  • Reporting Time: Candidates usually need to report at the centre 1 hour to 1.5 hours before the shift starts.

  • Gate Closing: The gates close strictly 30 to 45 minutes before the exam begins. No candidate is allowed entry after the gate is closed.

Instructions For Candidates Appearing For SSC JE Exam

Candidates must follow certain rules to ensure a smooth exam process. 

  • Bring the Admit Card: A printed copy of the hall ticket is mandatory. Entry is not allowed without it.

  • Carry Photo ID: Candidates must bring an original photo identity card, such as an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.

  • Provide Photographs: It is wise to carry two recent passport-size colour photographs in case they are needed for the attendance sheet.

  • Arrive Early: Reach the exam centre at least one hour before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.

  • No Prohibited Items: Do not bring mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic gadgets into the hall.

  • Avoid Stationery: Pens and paper for rough work are provided at the centre. Do not bring personal pens or notebooks.

  • Follow the Dress Code: Wear simple clothes and open footwear like slippers or sandals to speed up the security check.

  • Wait for Instructions: Do not start the computer or try to log in until the invigilator gives the signal.

  • Maintain Silence: Talking to other candidates or looking at their screens can lead to disqualification.

  • Submit Rough Sheets: All rough paper must be handed back to the staff before leaving the exam room.
