With the inclusion of posts like Scientific Assistant in India Meteorological Department (IMD) and specialized technical roles, CS & IT engineering candidates can now take the exam under Part-D (Computer Science and Information Technology).

The selection process comprises two objective Computer-Based Examinations (CBT): Paper-I (Screening) and Paper-II (Technical Core).

The SSC JE Computer Science & IT Syllabus evaluates candidates across fundamental mathematical foundations, system architectures, software engineering principles, and core computing concepts. Unlike traditional diploma-level Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical streams, the CS & IT section questions are set at approximately graduation level.
