SSC JE Exam Day Guidelines 2025: The SSC Junior Engineer (JE) examination is a crucial step for aspirants aiming for government engineering posts. To ensure smooth conduct of the exam and avoid last-minute hassles, candidates must strictly follow these exam day guidelines, which cover documentation, timing, conduct, and more.

 

What to Carry to the Exam Centre

Carry your admit card, a valid ID, and necessary stationery like pens, pencils, and an eraser to the exam centre. Also, ensure you have a water bottle and a simple watch. 

  • Candidates must bring their original Admission Certificate (hall ticket) issued by SSC.

  • A valid original photo identity card with the same date of birth as printed on the Admission Certificate is mandatory. Accepted IDs include Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, PAN Card, Passport, School/College ID, Employer ID, or Ex-serviceman Discharge Book.

  • If the photo ID does not have the date of birth, an additional original certificate as proof of date of birth must be carried.

  • Candidates should bring two recent passport-sized color photographs, especially if required by the SSC or exam center.

  • No electronic devices, calculators, or smart gadgets are allowed inside the exam hall.

Important Admission Certificate Instructions

Keep your admission certificate (admit card) safe and carry it to the exam centre without fail. Follow all instructions mentioned on it carefully. 

  • Do not write anything on the Admission Certificate before arriving at the exam center. You will be instructed to fill in any required details only in the presence of the invigilator after login.

  • Handle the Admission Certificate with care, avoiding any damage, folds, or distortion of the barcode.

  • Entry to the exam hall can be denied if the Admission Certificate or photo ID do not meet requirements.

Arrival and Reporting Time

Reach the exam centre well before the reporting time mentioned on your admit card. Arriving early helps complete security and verification procedures smoothly

  • Candidates who have not verified their Aadhaar during registration must report at least 2 hours before the exam start time to complete biometric or identity verification.

  • It is advisable to reach the city of the exam center a day before the exam to avoid travel day stress.

  • Candidates should check the exact location of their exam center well in advance to ensure on-time arrival.

Exam Conduct and Behaviour Guidelines

Follow all instructions given by the invigilators, maintain silence, and avoid any unfair practices to ensure a smooth and fair examination.

  • Any unfair means, misconduct, or violation of exam rules will lead to disqualification.

  • No extra sheets, bags, or papers are allowed inside the exam hall.

  • Candidates should strictly follow instructions given by the invigilators.

  • Candidates are not allowed to leave the exam hall before the completion of the test duration.

Exam Timing and Duration

Check the exam schedule carefully and arrive on time. Ensure you manage your time effectively to complete all sections within the given duration.

  • The exam will be conducted in multiple shifts. Candidates must confirm their assigned shift and reporting time clearly from their admit card.

  • The duration for Paper-I is 2 hours (2 hours 40 minutes for candidates eligible for scribes).

  • Candidates should manage their time efficiently and submit the test within the allotted duration.
