Preparing for SSC JE can be challenging, especially when repeated attempts don't produce the desired result. Many aspirants struggle with incomplete preparation, low mock scores, or self-doubt before finally achieving success.

Abhinav Yadav's SSC JE Success Story proves that consistent effort, learning from mistakes, and following a structured preparation strategy can eventually lead to selection. Despite two unsuccessful attempts and several close misses in other government exams, he stayed committed to his goal and finally secured success in SSC JE with the support of Physics Wallah and his family.

From NIT Arunachal Pradesh to SSC JE Preparation

Abhinav completed his schooling in Arunachal Pradesh, where his father worked as a teacher. After Class 10, he moved to Kota for further studies. Later, he secured admission to NIT Arunachal Pradesh.

Like many engineering graduates, he had heard about GATE but knew very little about SSC JE until after graduation.

"GATE ke baare mein to pata tha, lekin SSC JE ke baare mein pass out hone ke baad pata chala."

After graduating, the COVID pandemic changed his plans. He returned to Uttar Pradesh and began preparing from home. This was also when he joined Physics Wallah's online batch and started preparing seriously for SSC JE.

"Corona ke baad main UP wapas shift ho gaya tha. Wahin se maine PW ka online batch liya aur journey wahin se start hui."

What He Learned from His First Two SSC JE Attempts

Abhinav appeared for SSC JE three times. His first attempt was far from serious.

He admitted that his syllabus was incomplete. His notes were unfinished, and he did not attend lectures regularly.

"Notes bhi mere poore nahi the. Syllabus bhi complete nahi tha aur lectures bhi main regular nahi dekhta tha."

He also found it difficult to follow a consistent study routine.

As a result, he scored around 70–75 marks in Paper 1 and could not qualify.

His second serious attempt also did not lead to selection. Looking back, he realised what was missing.

"Maine enough test series nahi di thi."

Rather than getting discouraged, he treated every attempt as an opportunity to improve.

How He Changed His Preparation Strategy

For his final attempt, Abhinav completely changed his preparation strategy.

For his final attempt, he focused on completing the entire syllabus before moving to revision. Once the syllabus was complete, he practised the previous year's questions and took regular mock tests.

He also maintained a separate notebook for mistakes.

"Maine ek mistake notebook banaye rakha aur revise karta raha."

After every mock test, he wrote each mistake in a separate notebook instead of saving screenshots. Revisiting those notes regularly helped him avoid repeating the same errors.

"Jo jo galti hoti thi, main manually likhta tha."

He believed that writing mistakes by hand helped him remember concepts better during revision.

Interestingly, his mock test scores were still not very encouraging before the examination.

"Exam se kuch din pehle tak bhi mere number kam aa rahe the."

Even then, he continued following the same routine without changing his strategy.

Previous Year Questions and Test Series Made a Difference

Abhinav believes that the previous year's questions should never be treated casually.

According to him, students should understand every question carefully, including all the answer options.

"Har ek question aur uske saare options bhi properly samajhne chahiye."

Rather than worrying about his scores, he analysed every mock test carefully. His focus remained on understanding mistakes and improving them before the next test.

Instead of worrying about low scores, he focused on analysing every test.

He knew that many mock tests are designed at a slightly higher difficulty level than the actual examination. Therefore, his focus remained on identifying mistakes and improving them before the next test.

How Family Support Helped Him Stay Consistent

Abhinav's preparation continued for nearly four years. During this period, his family stood firmly by his side.

His family includes his parents and his elder sister.

"Papa aur mummy ne mujhe bahut support kiya."

He shared that his parents never asked him to stop preparing despite the long journey.

"Kabhi aisa nahi bola ki preparation chhod do."

Whenever he felt uncertain about his preparation, his family encouraged him to continue instead of giving up.

When he felt he could not study properly at home, he shifted to Delhi for preparation. There, he joined a library, attended classes, prepared notes, and continued his studies with full dedication.

Looking back, he considers his family's support one of the biggest reasons he could continue preparing without losing hope.

The Phase When He Almost Gave Up

During long preparation, there are times when your hard work does not seem to reflect in your results. Abhinav experienced the same feeling just a few months before SSC JE.

"Lagta tha ki main kitni bhi mehnat kar raha hoon, kuch nahi ho raha."

This phase came only a few months before SSC JE.

He admitted that he was close to giving up.

However, his father encouraged him to continue preparing and give one sincere attempt.

"Papa ne bola ki ye SSC JE ka attempt ek baar serious de ke dekh lo."

That conversation changed his mindset.

Even when he did not feel motivated, he continued going to the library every day, took mock tests, analysed them, and followed a simple daily target.

"Kam se kam 8 ghante to mujhe dene hi dene hain."

Instead of worrying about the final result, he focused on completing his daily study target, analysing mock tests, and improving a little every day.

Other Government Exams Before SSC JE Success

Before clearing SSC JE, Abhinav came close to selection in several other examinations.

He cleared RRB CBT 1 but narrowly missed selection in CBT 2.

"Bas ek question ka fark tha."

He also appeared for APPSC AE, APPSC JE, BPSC AE, and UPPSC AE examinations.

Some results were still awaited, while others ended with only a small margin separating him from selection.

These experiences strengthened his determination instead of reducing it.

The Moment He Shared His SSC JE Result

When the SSC JE result was declared, Abhinav wanted to share the news with both his parents at the same time.

Instead of calling them separately, he made a conference call.

"Maine conference call kar diya mummy aur papa ko."

His father was riding a bike when the call came and stopped to hear the result.

For Abhinav and his family, it was an emotional moment after years of hard work.

"Mujhe bhi vishwas nahi tha ki main nikal paunga."

After years of preparation, the result became a memorable moment for his entire family, who had supported him throughout the journey.

How Physics Wallah Supported His Preparation

During the COVID period, Abhinav joined Physics Wallah's online SSC JE batch to prepare in an organised manner. He attended regular lectures, completed handwritten notes, revised consistently, and combined classroom learning with previous-year questions and mock tests throughout his preparation.

"Wahin se maine PW ka online batch liya aur journey wahin se start hui."

He attended classes, prepared handwritten notes, completed the syllabus, and gradually strengthened his preparation. Along with regular PYQ practice, mock tests, and revision, this structured routine became an important part of his SSC JE journey.

Abhinav Yadav's Advice for SSC JE Aspirants

After achieving success, Abhinav shared one important lesson from his own preparation.

He said that students should avoid following multiple study sources.

"Main multiple sources pe bhaag jata tha."

According to him, you should avoid switching between multiple study sources. Complete your lectures from one reliable source, prepare handwritten notes, solve previous-year questions, and regularly analyse mock tests to improve.

Once the foundation is ready, they should focus on the previous year's questions and then move towards mock tests.

He also advised students to analyse every test carefully instead of looking only at their scores.

Abhinav Yadav's SSC JE Success Story shows that success rarely comes overnight. His journey included failed attempts, low mock scores, and several close misses in competitive exams. However, by improving his preparation strategy, analysing every mistake, and staying consistent, he eventually achieved his goal.

For SSC JE aspirants, his experience highlights an important lesson: complete the syllabus thoroughly, solve previous-year questions, analyse mock tests carefully, revise regularly, and trust the preparation process. Consistency over time often makes the biggest difference.
