Note: One post of SC is for shortfall of the SC category and is now included in the requisition. The number of posts may increase or decrease as per Government requirements. Candidates must have successfully completed the training specified by the Food Authority in a recognised institute or institution approved for the purpose.
The notification states that the training mentioned in the essential qualification will be given after appointment. Candidates who successfully complete the training will be notified as Food Safety Officers.

Hindi or Sanskrit as one of the subjects in Matric, or
Hindi as one of the subjects in Higher Education.
The notification states that no person having any financial interest in the manufacture, import or sale of any article of food will be appointed as Food Safety Officer under the Food Safety & Standards Rules, 2011, as amended from time to time.
Candidates should be at least 18 years old and not more than 42 years old on or before the closing date of the advertisement, i.e. October 19, 2026.
Age relaxation is available for specified categories as per the applicable Government instructions.

The notification states that the fee once paid will not be refunded. Applications without the prescribed fee, unless remission of fee is claimed, will be summarily rejected.

After successful registration, a Unique Registration Number (URN) will be created.
Use the login ID to apply for Advertisement No. 25/2026 according to the required qualifications.

The HPSC FSO recruitment generally follows a three-stage process:
Screening Test
Subject Knowledge Test
Interview
The Commission may decide to adopt a different process depending on the number of applications received. The notification states that the Commission can hold a Screening Test and then a Subject Knowledge Test and Interview, or may directly hold a Subject Knowledge Test and Interview without conducting a Screening Test.
Where conducted, the Screening Test may be used for shortlisting candidates for the next stage of recruitment. The Commission may adopt different shortlisting methods depending on the number of applications received.
The notification also states that where a Screening Test is conducted using OMR sheets, candidates must correctly mention details such as their name, roll number and booklet series.
Candidates may be required to appear for a Subject Knowledge Test as part of the recruitment process. The Commission will decide the examination pattern, and its decision regarding the pattern of examination will be final and binding upon candidates.
The recruitment process also includes an Interview for candidates who qualify for the required stage.
Candidates will be issued an e-Admit Card on the basis of the information provided in their online application form before the commencement of the written test/examination, if any.
The e-Admit Card will be made available on the HPSC website for candidates to download. No Admit Card will be sent by post separately.
The notification also clarifies that mere issuance of an e-Admit Card does not entitle a candidate to be eligible in all respects for the advertised post.
