MPESB Recruitment Rules 2026 Revised: Madhya Pradesh is introducing significant changes to its government recruitment process through the proposed Junior Services Combined Examination Rule 2026. This new system aims to streamline examinations, standardise selection procedures, and ensure fairness. The revised framework will impact all state government recruitments, including those conducted by MPESB, by introducing a common scorecard-based selection approach.
The proposed Junior Services Combined Examination Rule 2026, outlined in a gazetted letter, introduces fundamental shifts in government recruitment. A key change is that only three exams per year will be conducted, with future selections based on a scorecard obtained from these examinations. This rule has not yet been finalised; public suggestions from candidates are invited until June 5th, 2026. Feedback on these changes can be submitted via email to the relevant department.
Under this new system, all government recruitments, including those managed by MPESB (Vyapam), will follow the revised structure. Examinations are categorised into three main types:
Joint Technical Eligibility Examination (संयुक्त तकनीकी अहरता परीक्षा): Designed for technical posts, such as those in Agriculture.
Joint General Eligibility Examination (संयुक्त सामान्य अहरता परीक्षा): Intended for general administrative positions.
Teacher Eligibility Examination (शिक्षक अहरता परीक्षा): For candidates aspiring to teaching positions.
MPESB will organize three types of examinations annually for candidates across these categories.
Upon successfully passing these examinations, candidates will receive a scorecard. This scorecard is issued only to candidates who qualify in their respective exams.
Score Representation: Scores on the scorecard will be issued in percentile form.
Validity Period: The scorecard will be valid for two years. For instance, a scorecard issued on July 10, 2026, would remain valid until December 31, 2028.
Implementation Date: These new rules will apply to recruitment notifications released after October 1, 2026. Notifications issued before this date will adhere to the existing examination system.
Candidates have the option to retake the exam in subsequent years to improve their scores. If a candidate possesses multiple scorecards, the better scoring card can be used for applications.
For Teacher Eligibility, the exam result will hold validity for a lifetime.
For government job applications, the scorecard's validity remains subject to the 2-year rule.
All vacancies will be published on a dedicated recruitment portal where candidates can submit their applications. A merit list will be subsequently issued based on these received applications.
Application using Scorecard: Candidates must apply for future vacancies using their scorecard. If multiple valid scorecards are available, the best scorecard should be utilised.
Application Period: A minimum of 30 days will be provided for submitting applications.
Merit Determination: The merit list will be prepared based on the candidate's scorecard, percentile, or rank.
In cases where two candidates have an identical score, the candidate with higher age will be given priority in the merit list.
The age limit for a position will be determined by the specific departmental rules associated with each vacancy. The Date of Birth (DOB) recorded on the 10th-grade mark sheet will be accepted as valid. Candidates must ensure that all essential degrees or certificates, such as Provisional Degree Certificates (PDCs), are obtained by the application deadline. Additionally, all submitted certificates, including category certificates, must be valid at the time of application.
Only candidates who achieve the specified qualifying marks will be issued a scorecard. It is also mandatory to pass each individual section of the examination. Reservation policies will continue to be implemented in accordance with the existing government rules and regulations.
It is important to note that simply passing the examination does not guarantee a job. Final selection is contingent upon inclusion in the final merit list. Successful candidates must also complete document verification and mandatory medical tests. Candidacy may be canceled if a candidate provides false information, uses forged documents, or employs unfair means during any stage of the recruitment process.
The proposed rules also outline specific changes to the examination patterns for the Joint Technical and Joint General Eligibility Examinations.
General Section: This section includes topics such as MP GK, Current Affairs, Maths, and Reasoning, comprising a total of 25 questions.
Subject-Related Section: This part consists of 75 questions from the candidate's related subject.
Total Questions: The examination will have a total of 100 questions.
This examination will also feature a total of 100 questions, broken down into sections, each carrying 25 marks:
GK and Current Affairs
MP GK plus Government Schemes
Maths, Reasoning, and Computer
Hindi Grammar/Language
Candidates are strongly encouraged to provide their feedback on these proposed new rules by June 5th via the provided email ID. This feedback is crucial for conveying opinions on how these changes might impact students' preparation and future career prospects.
