Conducting Board: Assam State School Education Board, Division-II
Notification Date: October 9, 2026
Exam Dates: March–April 2027
Form Fill-Up: November 2026
Minimum Passing Marks: 33% in aggregate across six subjects
Total Subjects: Six subjects listed on the admit card
Official Website: ahsec.assam.gov.in
According to the official notification, students must score at least 33% marks in aggregate across all six subjects. This means the board will consider the marks obtained in all six subjects when checking whether a student meets the overall passing requirement.
Students must appear in every subject listed on their admit card. If a student remains absent in even one subject, the student will be declared failed.
For subjects that include practical or project work, students must pass both parts separately. They need to secure at least 33% marks in theory and at least 33% marks in practical or project work.
Therefore, students should prepare for both theory and practical examinations to meet the passing requirements.
Students must appear in all six subjects mentioned on their admit cards. The board has also explained how the sixth subject rule will work.
If a student fails in one subject but secures at least 33% marks in aggregate across all six subjects, the student can still be declared pass for certification. In this case, the subject with the lowest marks will be treated as the sixth subject.
This rule allows eligible students to pass even if they do not pass one subject separately, provided they meet the overall aggregate requirement and follow the other examination rules.
However, students must not remain absent in any subject. The absence rule is separate from the sixth subject rule. Students can refer to the previous year Assam AHSEC HS 12th Result 2026 update to get the details.
The board will calculate the total score of students who pass the examination using the best five subjects out of six. This means the marks of the five subjects considered best under the board's rules will be used for the final score calculation.
However, students must still appear in all six subjects and meet the required aggregate and other passing conditions. The best-five rule does not mean that students can skip a subject during the examination.
Students should check their certificate-cum-marksheet after the result is declared to understand their marks and final result.
The General Studies grade will be based on the student's performance in the Class XII Half-Yearly Examination. The question papers will be prepared by the District Level Internal Examination Committees (DLIEC).
Schools and colleges will enter the grades on the official portal during form fill-up. These grades will appear on the certificate-cum-marksheet.
