The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released an update on the Clerk Recruitment 2025. The total number of vacancies has been revised to 13,533, an increase of over 3,200 from the earlier 10,277. This change follows a manpower assessment and new demands from participating public sector banks across India. The IBPS Clerk Preliminary Examination took place on October 4 and 5, 2025, and results are expected soon on the official website, ibps.in.

Candidates clearing the prelims will advance to the Mains Examination, which will determine the final merit-based selection.

Examination and Selection Process

The IBPS Clerk 2025 recruitment process involves two stages — Preliminary and Mains Examinations, along with a Local Language Proficiency Test (if applicable).

Applicants who have studied their regional language in Class 10 or higher are exempt from the language test.

The Mains Exam will include 155 questions carrying 200 marks, with a duration of 120 minutes. A penalty of 0.25 marks will apply for each wrong answer. The final merit list will be based solely on Mains Exam scores.

  1. First visit the official website, ibps.in

  2. Then click on “IBPS Clerk Prelims Result 2025.”

  3. Then enter your correct Registration Number, Roll Number, and Date of Birth.

  4. After filling the details, click on submit to view the result.

  5. View your result carefully, then download and print the scorecard for reference.

The scorecard will show the candidate’s name, roll number, registration number, and qualifying status. Those who qualify in the prelims will proceed to the Mains Examination and, if required, the language proficiency test.
