IBPS Selection Process 2025

For Probationary Officer and Specialist Officer posts, the recruitment process includes three stages — Preliminary, Mains and Interview rounds. However, for the Clerks post, the process is done via two-stage Examinations.

• The Preliminary Exam is a qualifying screening test consisting of objective type questions based on Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English.

• The Mains Exam is a paper with more depth which is sectional and includes – Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Financial Awareness, English language, and Data Analysis & Interpretation. In case of PO, it also features a Descriptive paper.

• For PO and SO posts, the candidates who qualify the mains are further interviewed to test their personality, communication skills, and overall suitability for the profile.

• The Final Selection is based on the combined scores of Mains (80%) and Interview (20%) results for PO and SO posts. Selection of Clerk is done based on the performance in the mains exam.
